Emily Bucher, a UK-based illustrator creating playful illustrated art prints, framed prints, and illustrated products inspired by imagination, books, and animals. My work combines whimsical illustration with storytelling, featuring curious characters and animal companions designed to bring joy and personality into everyday spaces.

About the Artist

Hi! I’m Emily, an artist and mother to a baby girl (see picture of me breastfeeding, I don’t seem to have any other recent photos!) I have a lovely partner and a sweet greyhound and we all live in Hove in the UK. I’m an artist simply because drawing makes me happy, I love exploring my imagination using different mediums and styles. I want my work to tell a story, give you joy and spark your imagination.

What I Draw

I draw story-led illustrations filled with imagination, animals, and the strange little inner worlds we all wander into. My work is playful, joyful, and slightly surreal, often featuring people lost in stories and animal companions who turn up uninvited.

I love artwork that feels fun to live with. The kind of art that makes you smile when you notice a detail for the first time, or the fifth.

What I Make

I create illustrated art prints and products that celebrate creativity and imagination. Many of my designs explore what happens when you open a book and your surroundings quietly slip away.

Alongside my illustration work, I also run Emily B. Studio’s Imaginarium, a small monthly snail mail club for people who enjoy drawing, journalling, and making things on paper. Each month I create a printed booklet filled with prompts, drawing ideas, and creative challenges, and post it straight to subscribers. It is a way for me to encourage creativity without pressure, rules, or the need to be “good at art”. It has quickly become one of my favourite things to make.
